Emma Reid is a highly skilled drama facilitator with 10 years teaching experience. She made her first ventures into the world of teaching drama with the National Association of Youth Drama (N.A.Y.D.) where she earned FETAC level 6 qualifications in Drama facilitation, Dramatic Practice and Methodologies.
It was here that she first saw the effect of drama upon the confidence and self esteem of young people. This set in motion a lifelong drive to use the performing arts to enable children and young people to explore their worlds and broaden their horizons.
Emma now works extensively with the Volunteer Service International (V.S.I.), where she facilitates residential camps, and uses process drama, forum theatre and cutting edge dramatic practice to bring young people from all around the world together to explore social and political issues. Emma is also well known around the Cavan area for her skill in teaching drama, having worked with many local primary schools as well as running drama workshops with the Young Arts Group, at the Fleadh Cheoil in Cavan Town. In addition to her obvious talents for drama facilitation, Emma is also an accomplished singer who sings regularly with local bands.
